Flag of Latvia

The Society Integration Foundation of Latvia, a governmental institution that promotes the country's social cohesion, committed to funding the activities of 11 NGOs to promote the integration of those arriving from Ukraine. Each organisation has been allocated 30 000 EUR, and must carry out the funded activities by the end of this year.

The activities being funding include the following:

  • provision of coordinated, inter-institutional assistance;
  • raising of financial and material resources to support the residents of Kyiv and surrounding regions;
  • maintenance and development of information resources;
  • coordination and recruitment of volunteers;
  • recruitment of specialists and experts to provide services;
  • collection and distribution of humanitarian aid;
  • provision of psychological aid;
  • provision of aid to women and children who have suffered from violence.

The Society Integration Foundation runs programmes financed by the state budget, European Union instruments and foreign financial assistance. It primarily supports activities in the non-governmental sector, and those related to minority and vulnerable groups, families, and the media. Further information on funding in support of those from Ukraine can be found here.
