Italy: Support period extended for those displaced from Ukraine

Flag of Italy

Since March 2022 more than 170 000 people displaced from Ukraine have entered Italy. The state of emergency declared in Italy on 28 February to ensure protection for those displaced has now been extended to 3 March 2023, in accordance with EU decision-making.

Those fleeing the war in Ukraine can therefore continue to apply for temporary protection until this time, and those who have applied since 30 September 2022 can also apply for financial support.

The financial support available amounts to € 300 per month for each member of a family, for up to 3 months. Parents of children under the age of 18 are granted a supplement of € 150 per month, per child. In order to be granted this funding applicants must have been living in independent accommodation (rather than in state-provided accommodation) for at least ten days of the month.
