In the framework of the capacity building project COM.IN.4.0 - Competences for Integration, financed by the European Commission's Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF), the MultiMo(n)di contest was launched in Italy on 16 May.
The contest examines inclusion policies implemented by local authorities - in mountain and/or island communities in the 5 southern regions of Apulia, Calabria, Sicily, Campania and Basilicata - in support of third country nationals, aiming to highlight the best, most innovative practices. 10 000 EUR will be awarded for the winning policy.
Eligible implementing bodies for the contest are public entities - such as municipalities in both single and associated form -, provinces, metropolitan areas, local health authorities, and mountain and island communities.
COM.IN.4.0 involves the aforementioned 5 southern regions and has the following goals:
- To achieve INSTITUTIONAL AND COMMUNITY CAPACITY: further strengthen and extend to new territorial actors the development of skills and professionalism of Public Administration staff and territorial stakeholders dedicated to the implementation of integration policies.
- To make the REGIONAL PROFESSIONAL COMMUNITIES adequately prepared to meet the challenges posed by the migration phenomenon in terms of knowledge, skills, tools and means.
- To consolidate and capitalise on the MODELISATION OF A GOVERNANCE SYSTEM based on horizontal processes, on the enhancement of local implementation of integration policies, and on coherence between the different policy levels (European; national; regional; local).
Applications for the contest can be submitted from 16 May - 15 July, by completing this form and sending it to multimondi@integrazione.org.
