Hungary's Ministry of Interior published two calls for proposals under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF/MMIA Plusz in HUN). Following the February 2022 invasion of Ukraine by Russia, supporting the social integration of refugees from Ukraine in Europe is a priority goal for AMIF funding.

Hungary's detailed multiannual AMIF work plan can be found here.

Applicants eligible for these calls include NGOs, foundations, church entities, local municipalities, local ethnic municipalities, associations of municipalities, international and intergovernmental organisations, and other registered organisations.

The calls focus on 1) complex support services for legal residents (MMIA Plusz-2.2.1-24 kódszámú), and 2) capacity building of local authorities and public and private service providers (MMIA Plusz-2.2.2-24).

  • housing support for third-country nationals (TCNs);
  • Hungarian as a foreign language training for TCNs;
  • labour market integration support for TCNs;
  • development of intercultural competencies of TCNs;
  • school integration support for migrant children.

Eligible activities under MMIA Plusz-2.2.2-24 include:

  • training for professionals working with TCNs;
  • knowledge and experience sharing, conferences, workshops;
  • customer service development;

  • other additional services.

The total amount of funding to be allocated is 26.99 billion HUF, until 2028. The submission period for 2024 is 19 March - 19 April.
