The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) launched a new website offering information on Danish society and legislation for newcomers to Denmark. The information is available in Ukrainian, Russian and Danish, and includes guidance on how to access a doctor, how to greet a colleague, the meaning of 'education duty', and other similar issues.
The website is built around seven themes, each introduced by a short video (several of which feature Ukrainians who have lived in Denmark for many years). The seven themes are as follows:
- Residence permits
- Family life in Denmark
- School and day care
- Education for youth and adults
- Work in Denmark
- Leisure activities and voluntary associations
- Health services
Representative of DRC Integration Mette Blauenfeldt said of the site: "Ukrainian refugees need to get an everyday life up and running as fast as possible, including work and school, and most of them don't know anything about Denmark. On the website they can easily find answers to the most basic questions which are useful when you arrived recently".
The site was developed in conjunction with social research company ALS Research, with support from the TRYG Foundation.
