Kryštof Kruliš, an analyst for the Czech Association for International Affairs (AMO), writes in high profile weekly news magazine Respekt that without foreigners, the Czech Republic is too small to manage the development of the knowledge economy, based on the work of high-level qualified specialists. This is, according to him, a precondition for the growth of salaries and competitiveness. The modernisation of the Czech education system, including building a quality infrastructure, is also necessary in his opinion. Foreigners could also help create the inhabitants' inter-cultural understanding, Krystof Kruliš writes.
