Flag Czech Republic EWSI

The Ministry of Education announced a call entitled Adaptation groups for children of foreigners migrating from Ukraine 2023 January - June 2023. The call promotes the integration of refugee children aged 3 to 18 years who have fled the ongoing war in Ukraine and been granted temporary protection in the Czech Republic.

Specifically, the funding released under this call will support the delivery of 20-hour blocks of leisure activities that will focus on helping children displaced from Ukraine - who are not currently attending school - to adjust socially and practically to the Czech environment. These activities will strengthen children's Czech language skills, prepare them for entry to Czech schools, and promote their mental well-being.

The total amount of funding allocated under the call is CZK 100 million (approximately EUR 4.1 million), and the deadline for application is 30 April 2023.

Eligible applicants include:

  • public universities
  • legal entities carrying out the activities of a school or educational institution registered in the national school register
  • municipal authorities, municipal districts of the capital City of Prague, and voluntary associations of municipalities
  • contributory organisations established by a municipality, a region, the City of Prague, Prague's municipal district or a voluntary association of municipalities
  • non-governmental organisations
