The European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA) published guidelines establishing the minimum quality standard for community sponsorthip schemes for refugees across the EU.
The EU's support for community sponsorship is part of its broader strategy to address the challenges of forced displacement. Through community sponsorship, the EU aims to increase admission places and resettlement capabilities, and foster integration through partnerships between countries, civil society and private individuals.
In addition to setting the minimum standard, the current publication also shares lessons learned and best practices, including from the Safe Homes programme.
