Good practices from other states for the participation of NGOs in supporting selected vulnerable groups in their relations with institutions

Title

This report published by the Center for the Study of Democracy, a Bulgarian NGO, aims to contribute to the improvement of Bulgarian NGOs that provide support to selected vulnerable groups—prisoners, victims of trafficking and domestic violence, persons seeking international protection and other vulnerable migrant groups. The report presents a selection and summary of good practices from other EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and countries outside of Europe.

Part IV of the report focuses on assistance for persons seeking protection and other vulnerable migrant groups. It highlights specific assistance programmes implemented by organisations in Austria, Belgium and the UK. In addition, it provides a brief overview of France's government policy and funding with respect to integration.

The report has identified good practices by studying printed and electronic publications of foreign entities and comparative reports of international organisations on the legislation, policies and practices in different countries. Part of the information has been collected via foreign partners of the Center for the Study of Democracy through projects related to vulnerable groups and to the capacity building of civic organisations.
