Findings on migrant women from the 2nd EU Minorities and Discrimination Survey

Title

The EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) reports on the experiences of migrant women in Europe using the results of the second EU Minorities and Discrimination Survey (EU-MIDIS II). The report compares the situation of migrant women to both migrant men and non-migrant women.

The report finds that migrant women face a range of fundamental rights challenges, and that integration efforts should address the obstacles encountered specifically by migrant women. This includes, for example, large gender gaps in employment.

Topics covered in the report

  • Legal status and main reason for migrating
  • Education
  • Employment
  • Discrimination, harassment, violence and awareness of rights
  • Values and attitudes
