The Estonian contact point of the European Migration Network (EMN) published its sixth Migration Statistics Overview.
The brochure provides an overview of the main migration trends in Estonia during the period 2019 – 2023, covering outward and return migration of Estonians and inward and outward migration of third-country nationals (TCNs).
The publication provides answers to the following questions:
- What is Estonia's population, immigration, emigration, and net migration?
- To whom, for what purpose, and how many visas were issued?
- How many short-term employment registrations were there and in which sectors?
- Who came to live in Estonia and for what reasons?
- Who was granted long-term residence permits and permanent residence?
- Where did foreigners settle?
- Who was granted international protection? How many were granted temporary protection in Estonia?
- Who was expelled from the country?
- Who became Estonian citizens?
- Who became e-residents?
- How many foreigners took part in the adaptation programme?
- How has migration to Estonia changed since joining the European Union?
