Luxembourg, Re:sources

Based on many years experience in informal education, innovating pedagogical projects and the implication of parents from various national and ethnic backgrounds in ASTI, Re:sources is disseminating good practices in this field in the extra curricular structures of the Grand duchy. All these structures have to deal with multi ethnic pupils. (43% of Luxembourg's population are foreigners.)

Project Goal

The educational personnel dealing with the multiethnic pupils are often not prepared for these situations. ASTI's 25 year experience in this field is proposed, suggested and discussed with educators

How it works

A training session is proposed, generaly a half - day training. It is up to the participants to adapt the presented experience to their own situation. A follow up can be assured on request.

Results

More than 30 training sessions took place in the first year. There was particular interest in the field of home work teachers give the pupils.

Evaluation

The relation between elementary school and the extracurricular structures is a main issue. The multilingual luxembourgian school gives a lot of homework to the pupils, which parents and extracuricular structures have to deal with.

The interest among the educational personnel is different: experienced educators are more interested, the younger one having many other questions to deal with!

Who benefits

Educational personnel benefit directly, while parents and children of various ethnic backgrounds benefit indirectly
