Portugal: Choices Club continues to promote integration of young third-country migrants

The High Commission for Migration (ACM) and Social Innovation Sports in Portgual renewed their agreement for the operation of the Choices Club (Clube Escolhas) project. The initiative is part of the wider Choices Programme (Programa Escolhas) that sponsors the integration of youngsters in deprived neighbourhoods, many of whom have a third-country migration background.

Choices Club (Clube Escolhas) runs a mixed-team futsal tournament, and operates according to a set of guiding principles including the promotion of social inclusion and healthy health habits and the development of such skills as responsibility, determination, cooperation, concentration and improved self-confidence through sport.

The project is the result of a partnership between the High Commission for Migration (ACM), the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth (IPDJ), and the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), with Social Innovation Sportshub responsible for its operational management and day-to-day implementation.
