Italy: Supreme2 project launches newsletter on addressing TCN labour exploitation

Flag of Italy

The Su.Pr.Eme.2 programme launched its first bilingual newsletter. Available in Italian and English, the newsletter contains highlights of the programme's 5-year integrated plan to combat severe labour exploitation and vulnerability among migrant workers in 5 regions in southern Italy: Sicily, Calabria, Puglia, Basilicata, and Campania.

This first newsletter reports on the project's kick-off meeting in Palermo, shares updates on the Institutional Anti-Gangmaster Helpdesk, and provides information on the development of 'Integrated Social Poles' in the partner regions (with the first centre inaugurated in Catania on 16 October). The aim of these poles is to create recognisable spaces for multidimensional support and service orientation for foreign workers experiencing labour exploitation.

Su.Pr.Eme.2 is a comprehensive programme which aims to combat severe labour exploitation and vulnerability among migrant workers in the aforementioned regions. Funded by the European Commission's Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) 2021-2027 and the ESF+ PN Inclusion and Poverty Alleviation Programme, the project is led by the Regione Siciliana (Sicilian region) in partnership with regional authorities and the Nova National Consortium for Social Innovation. Building on the previous Su.Pr.Eme. and P.I.U.Su.Pr.Eme. projects, the programme works to systematise and create innovative support services for migrants.
