The Czech Labour Office launched the Integration into the Labour Market and Support for Foreigners in the Czech Republic project at the end of 2024.
The project will serve as a systemic tool for supporting migrants in the Czech Republic as they enter the labour market and integrate into Czech society. It is targeted at all migrants with legal residence in the Czech Republic, including EU citizens, applicants, and holders of international and temporary protection.
The specific goal of the project is to remove integration barriers through provision by the Czech Labour Office of language education for migrants. A wide range of other services will also be provided, including assistance in job searching via personal consultations with a counsellor. Professional retraining courses will be offered based on individual client needs.
The project facilitates the entry of foreigners into the labour market by using active labour market policies (ALMP) tools, such as trial work placements, training subsidies, and the establishment of socially beneficial jobs. The project can also cover essential administrative costs, including medical examinations, diploma recognition (nostrification), travel expenses for attending retraining programmes, and childcare or dependent care costs.
Project activities will be available through the network of regional Labour Office branches. The project is funded by the European Social Fund and the state budget of the Czech Republic within the Employment Plus Operational Programme (OPZ+).
