The goal of creating a working life programme to increase employers' recruitment and diversity skills has been included in the publication of the Prime Minister Marin's government programme. The target group of this diversity programme is employers and workplaces.
Diversity and anti-discrimination in Finnish society and working life is critical for the employment of immigrants, as well as for Finland's attractiveness as a destination for skilled labour, international students and investments.
The aim of the programme is to enable companies and organisations to benefit from diversity, and for immigrants to gain access to jobs that match their skillsets and advance in their careers. The programme is broadly related to the government’s goal of raising employment rates and promoting the employment of immigrants.
The programme includes measures to reduce structural discrimination and racism in the labour market, through raising awareness in the workplace of the benefits of diversity and by increasing recruitment, management and other skills for diversity and inclusion in working life. The programme also aims to increase diversity skills in employer and jobseeker services, and to promote diversity and inclusion in the public sector. Measures against discrimination in recruitment and the promotion of anonymous recruitment will be integrated across the various measures of the programme.
