Croatia: 9th week of / for refugees!

Flag of Croatia

Coordination for Integration, an informal network of civil society organisations supporting the integration of refugees in Croatia, is holding the 9th week of / for refugees! from 2 - 25 June in recognition of World Refugee Day (20 June). The week's events will be held online and in the cities of Zagreb, Osijek, Split, Sisak, Karlovac, Rijeka, Zadar and Pula, and will include such activities as a press conference, online panels and roundtables, film screenings, interactive workshops and social gatherings.

Through these events, Coordination for Integration - together with partner organisations from cities across Croatia - encourages citizens to get involved in activities that promote their acquaintance with and better mutual understanding of both new and old members of society. With the recent arrival of a large number of Ukrainian refugees in the country, Croatia has shown that it can respond quickly to crisis situations and establish comprehensive policies for the inclusion of people in society very soon after their arrival. With this in mind, these events will foster awareness of the fact that such policies should be available to all refugees, and provide the opportunity to advocate for their equal rights.
