Brasov Multicultural Day 2022

Multicultural Day Brasov

Brasov Multicultural Day is an annual celebration organised by the Migrant Integration Center in the city of Brasov, Romania.

Event activities will promote and facilitate intercultural dialogue, aiming to improve mutual understanding, communication and cooperation between people from different cultures, and to overcome stereotypes and prejudices. As Brasov is a well-known tourist destination, we expect this 9th edition to benefit from the participation of members of the public from the whole region of Muntenia, including Bucharest.

This year's theme will be 'empathy'. The event will have two components: first, migrants living in Brasov will share their talents through traditional dance performances, a variety of traditional songs and music, country-specific presentations, plays, poetry recitals and other cultural demonstrations. Second, national stalls will be set up displaying cultural crafts, traditional clothes, artworks and other items. Featured countries will include India, Indonesia, Iran, Dominican Republic, China, Columbia, South Korea, Egypt, Philippines, Moldova, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Ukraine, Venezuela, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Palestine, and Peru.

Further information on the Empathy Project, of which the Migrant Integration Center is part, can be found here.
