Seminar Integration and third sector 2015: Participation and community in volunteering

Title

The seminar handles issues related to refugees' possibilities to make a difference and how third sector actors can help them with it. Lectures will be given in the morning, and in the afternoon the participants can choose between three different workshops.

Workshop 1: Tools for influencing. The iCount project aims for improving the discussion between immigrants, authorities and political parties. What is the best way to be heard in the Finnish society and how can you support and inspire others to influence?

Workshop 2: Young people as a part of the community. R3 is a multicultural youth organization, that strives for promoting the position and participation of immigrant young people age 16-29. The workshop will talk about practical experiences of youth and authorities, as well as what kind of solutions and actions young people can take to constructively contribute to society.

Workshop 3: Managing volunteers. Karreinen.org offers solution-centered training and worshops about participatory leadership. This workshop will give inspiration and tools to manage volunteers so that they get more courage to look at their behaviour in a new way.

The seminar is free of charge.

Registration is desired by 6th May 2015
