The Federation of Non-Governmental Organisations for Children (FONPC) - in partnership with CARE France, the International Council of Voluntary Agencies, and Eurochild - is holding an international conference on the role of civil society organisations in the integration of refugees across Europe.
Building on the experiences of various organisations in the field of asylum and migration as well as on the humanitarian response to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the event aims to facilitate the exchange of good practices and discussion of policy recommendations on refugee integration. It will also offer participants the opportunity to network with other NGOs and stakeholders (such as UN agencies, governmental bodies, research units and universities).
The conference agenda focuses on four main themes:
- The integration of refugees and migrants in education and health systems, labour markets, and social services in European countries - good practices and policy comparisons;
- Localisation of the humanitarian response in migrant and refugee crises in Europe – inclusive partnership models and the role of local and national NGOs;
- Migrant and refugee children – protection and integration needs and good practices;
- Intersectionality panel plenary session – dimensions of vulnerability and those forgotten.
The event's speakers represent experienced organisations that cover a variety of relevant areas: field action, research, networking, lobbying and policy making, and funding.
The conference will be held in presence at Hotel Sheraton Bucharest and will also be streamed online. Online attendance is free of charge.
