Poland: Shifting refugee integration policy from outcomes to capabilities

Flag of Poland

The Faculty of Sociology at the University of Warsaw is hosting a guest lecture, entitled 'From Mere Life to a Good Life: Shifting Refugee Integration Policy from Outcomes to Capabilities', by Professor Jenny Phillimore, a distinguished expert in the field of Migration and Superdiversity from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom.

Professor Phillimore will present a proposal for a novel approach to refugee integration which can both facilitate the integration of refugees and benefit host societies. The proposal, the integration capabilities approach, was developed in response to criticism of the traditional understanding of integration as measured by normative integration outcomes.

The event, organised as part of the IDUB New Ideas (Nowe Idee) Programme, offers an exceptional opportunity to engage with contemporary issues surrounding refugee integration policy.
