The Centre for Cultural Dialogue is organising the final conference of the “New Neighbours - integration of persons with international protection into Croatian society” project, which will bring together key stakeholders of the integration process in Croatia. The event will see presentation of project results, lessons learned, and guidelines and recommendations for future work with those granted international protection in Croatia.
The project, co-financed by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) and the Government of the Republic of Croatia, works to promote the independence of those with approved international protection and the creation of independent members of society who contribute to and actively participate in community life. It directly contributes to integration processes by providing assistance to asylum seekers and foreigners under subsidiary protection in integration and inclusion in Croatian society, by strengthening the capacities of competent institutions, and by encouraging the sensitisation of local populations.
The New Neighbours project is an excellent example of synergistic action and successful cooperation between a government body, in this case the Ministry of the Interior, and a non-governmental organisation - the Centre for Cultural Dialogue. In its capacity as implementing partner, the centre cooperated with various stakeholders including state bodies, government offices, public institutions, the private sector, the media, international organisations, and non-governmental organisations in other fields, such as culture, art, economy, education, science, health, and sport.
