The Cities and Regions for Integration of Migrants network, of the European Committee of the Regions, will hold on 28 March a conference entitled Empowering regions and cities in migrant integration governance.
The conference will focus on the multi-level coordination and intercultural approach to the integration of migrants and refugees in cities and regions across Europe.
The conference will present insights and recommendations based on previous and ongoing research on the multilevel coordination of migrant integration, carried out by the Eurac Research and Vrije Universiteit Brussel – BIRMM. It will also address current challenges in migrant integration, and explore how, by applying an intercultural approach, regions can foster inclusion and a sense of belonging.
There will also be discussion of the main outcomes of and policy tools developed within the AMIF-funded project EU-Belong: Intercultural Integration of Migrants in Europe’s Regions, led by the Assembly of European Regions (AER) to improve the socio economic inclusion of migrants through the development of intercultural integration strategies.
Registration for participation is now closed, but you can still watch the conference online here.
Interpretation will be provided throughout the event in English, Polish, Spanish, and Italian.
